Up to 90% off, EVERYTHING

One of the good thing about being a field engineer is, everything is just like discounted. It just like 50 – 90% off for every item out there. That’s a bargain for sure.
Wait a minute there. Everything?
Yep my friend, e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g.
Every single item from every single brand that you can mention. Starbucks, National Geographic, KFC, Warung Lela, McDonald’s, Blitz Megaplex, 21 Cineplex, Burger King, Carrefour, Baskin & Robbins. You name it. Every single little thing.
And no, it’s not like we got the ultimate discount card or whatsoever magical privileges for being a field engineer. Remember what I mentioned before, “everything is just like discounted”.
‘Like’.
You see, our schedule was something like three weeks in the middle of jungle (or sea), one week off the jungle back to normal city life. (not that we really have a schedule anyway. my last job was 32 days on field, 3 days on town. crap.) But well, if you think more on this.
This is the very reason why we ‘got’ the discount.
Like let say, I’m having a 2-2 schedule. 2 weeks on field, 2 weeks off. Considering that I won’t get anything like starbucks in the middle of jungle of kalimantan, or somewhere amidst the blue sea of natuna. so I better really have a grab on it while I’m in town.
And, don’t forget about fact that I won’t have to spend even a single penny when I’m on field.
2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. Well. Because my real life in town’d only be half of my life. I’d divide the real price by two. A 50% discount. Nice. Get the logic?
You know, when I was still on college, the price for having a cup at starbucks is just like soaring high up in the sky. Premium. A total rip-off for me.
Right now? Well, if we calculate the price based on my previous schedule (yea, that crappy 32-3 days schedule. A 90% discount. A baa~ahhrgain…, a cup of delicious creamy caramel toffee at starbucks would cost me only ‘0.5$’. Isn’t that just great?
That’s definitely a price I could afford for sure.
*and yap, tulisan bullshit ini murni merupakan justifikasi perilaku boros gue, huehehehehe.
